Tape Delta Robot

August 2025 - Present (In-progress slowly as focused on job hunt)

Context:

Building a device similar to delta robots using tape measures and motors as the actuators. 

Skills:

  • Microcontroller

  • Stepper motor

  • Python

  • 3D printing

  • Laser cutting

Goal:

To satisfy a curiosity, practice electromechanical design, and learn how stepper motors are programmed in C++. Building the project with a limited budget and minimal access to tools, I aim to build mostly with what I already own---yarn, rubber bands, and other abnormal parts. 

What I've done so far:

  • Programmed Python script to calculate movements and plot visuals

  • Arduino IDE to ELEGOO Uno R3 microcontroller and breadboard circuit

  • Laser cut wood support boards/robot frame

  • 3D printed carriages for motor, tape measure, and spool
